CAT 2020 eligibility varies from category to category. For general students, the student must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Good thing is that there is no age limit.

WHAT IS CAT REGISTRATION FEE ?
It is Rs.1000 for SC, ST & PwD category candidates, and Rs.2000 for candidates belonging to all other categories. Irrespective of no of colleges you are choosing the fee remains as same.
WHAT IS THE DATE OF EXAMINATION CAT ?
CAT 2020 Exam date is on November 29th. Two slots for the CAT 2020 exam.
WHAT IS THE START AND END DATE OF CAT REGISTRATION?
CAT-2020 REGISTRATION OPENS ON 5th AUGUST AND ENDS ON 16th SEP 2020
CAN I CHANGE MY CATEGORY AFTER REGISTRATION OF CAT ?
NO, You cannot change the Category after your registration of CAT 2020. Mentioned clearly in the CAT 2020 notification.
WHAT IS THE DATE FOR ADMIT CARD DOWNLOADING FOR CAT ?
You can download the CAT 2020 admit card from Oct 28th to Nov 29th.

WHAT IS THE BREAK UP OF RESERVED CATEGORY SEATS IN IIM’s FOR CAT ?
As per the legal requirements of CAT 2020, 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. 27% of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “non-creamy” layer (NC-OBC). Up to 10% of the seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates.

IS THERE ANY NORMALIZATION IN CAT SINCE THERE ARE TWO SLOTS ?
CAT 2020 shall be conducted in two sessions. Two different Test Forms shall be administered in two Test Sessions. In order to ensure fairness and equity in comparison to performances of candidates across different test sessions, the scores of candidates shall be subjected to a process of Normalisation. After normalization across different forms, the scores shall be further normalized across different sections. The Scaled Scores obtained by this process shall be converted into percentiles for purposes of shortlisting.

IS THERE ANY POSSIBILITIES OF CHANGE IN CAT EXAM DATE DUE TO CORONA?
CAT 2020 process is to be conducted taking into account the COVID 19 crisis. The information from the CAT website is contingent upon the decisions taken by the CGI, STATE Govt, and IIM’s. So, students are advised to kindly check the CAT website regularly.

I’M IN MY FINAL YEAR OF GRADUATION CAN I APPLY FOR CAT ?
Yes, you can apply for CAT 2020. But, it depends on other eligibility criteria too like GRADUATION PERCENTAGE ( 45% for SC, ST & PWD, and all the others it is 50% ) etc.,
WHAT IS DATE OF RESULT DECLARATION FOR CAT ?
There is no exact date for CAT 2020 result declaration as per the notification released but tentatively is in the second week of JAN 2021.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I ATTEMPT CAT EXAM ?
There is no such limit to test your skills in CAT. You can write any number of times if you are fulfilling the eligibility criteria for CAT.
WHAT DOES IIM’S PROVIDE MBA OR PGDM?
All IIMs offer a two-year full-time Post-Graduate Program in Management (PGP), equivalent to a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. The program is considered the flagship program of IIMs and awards the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) to successful candidates.
WHAT IS THE WEIGHTAGE FOR GD/PI IN THE FINAL SELECTION PROCESS IN CAT ?
As mentioned earlier it varies from IIM to IIM. But will have equal importance with the CAT score. Its weight starts at 20. But differs from IIM to IIM
IS THERE SECTIONAL TIMINGS FOR INDIVIDUAL SECTIONS IN CAT EXAM ?
YES, There is sectional timing for each section in the CAT 2020 exam and you cannot switch from one section to another section unless prescribed time is done. (Usually 1hr for each section and on a whole 3hrs exam)
IS THERE ANY SECTIONAL CUTOFF FOR FINAL SELECTION IN CAT ?
Yes, In CAT 2020 you need to get a minimum percentile in each section to get a call from IIMs & This varies from IIM to IIM.
WHAT IS THE ANNUAL FEE STRUCTURE FOR TOP IIM ?
IIM fees vary from IIM to IIM with highest being in the range of 25Lakhs for 2 years and the lowest will be around 10Lakhs
CAN I GET BANK LOAN AFTER CRACKING CAT EXAM FOR MY HIGHER STUDIES ?
Securing a seat in IIM itself is considered an achievement. No. of Banks will be in the queue to offer you bank loans.
WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR IIM’S ?AS DIFFERENT IIM’S FOLLOW DIFFERENT PROCESS.
IIM Selection process for the 20 IIMs in India differs from one another. While all of these IIMs adopt 3 stage selection process, beginning with the 1st stage of the CAT Selection process with minimum sectional and overall CAT percentile, the IIM selection criteria for each of these IIMs is independent of other IIM. Although a good performance in CAT 2019 exam is the mandatory requirement for the first stage of the CAT selection process 2020, other key parameters like academics, work experience, diversity, performance in GD-PI-WAT play even a greater role in the IIM selection process 2020.
