WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME TO TAKE GRE?

Don’t be concerned! Throughout the year, the Graduate Record Examination, or GRE, is administered virtually every weekend. There are numerous exam centers in major cities from which to pick.
When is the right time to attempt the GRE? There is no such thing as the best time! “Whenever you’re ready!

ISN’T IT GREAT THAT THE GRE IS AVAILABLE ALL YEAR?

In general, candidates who want to begin studying abroad in the fall take the GRE between March and October of the preceding year. If you want to study abroad, you must have completed the GRE by October. The GRE score is valid for five years; thus, taking the GRE early is OK.

WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY GRE EXAM?

The GRE should be taken based on the type of applicant you are.

  • Students should take the GRE during their penultimate year of studies. This means that if you intend to study abroad immediately after graduating, you should take the GRE in your second to last year of college.
  • Working Professionals: As a working professional, you may have little time to sit down and study for the GRE. You can study during your free time or on weekends. I recommend that you take several practice tests. When

If you want to enrol in Spring 2023, you must have your GRE scores ready by February 2022!

HOW READY ARE YOU?

As a student, you must assess your preparedness; if you are presented with a comprehensive set of questions from both the Quantitative and Verbal parts, you should be able to answer them.
You can take diagnostic/sample tests and practice questions to assist you to assess your readiness for the exam. After all, there’s no point in taking a test if you’re only half prepared. Keep in mind that there is one stipulation: the submission deadline. You must work hard and complete the examination before the submission dates for your target universities.

Because the GRE contains challenging terms, you will need to be well-read. Practising’reading’ will boost your confidence, allowing you to complete the exam far faster than individuals who overlook this component. You may need to increase your vocabulary, but we at Jamboree do not recommend devoting much effort to it.It is better if you master the Jamboree vocabulary strategy so that you can do the task in less time.

WHEN DO YOU INTEND TO COMPLETE YOUR MASTER’S DEGREE?

During their final year of undergraduate study, most Indian students consider taking the GRE. Keep in mind that GRE scores are valid for 5 years. This means that if you perform well, you can gain 2-3 years of work experience and apply to the university of your choice. Students come from a variety of backgrounds and hence have varying goals. While some students want to pursue their master’s degree immediately after completing their course, others prefer to wait and get some experience before venturing into the more sophisticated world of master’s.

When do you intend to complete your master’s degree?

During their final year of undergraduate study, most Indian students consider taking the GRE. Keep in mind that GRE scores are valid for 5 years. This means that if you perform well, you can gain 2-3 years of work experience and apply to the university of your choice.
Students that desire to continue their education immediately after completing their undergrad prefer to do so because they believe in momentum and do not want to have a stop-start.
Students that choose the ‘experience-first’ path prefer to gain more practical and on-the-job experience before enrolling in a master’s programme.
In either case, GRE scores are valid for 5 years; consequently, the timing of your master’s programme is crucial.

WHEN DO THE APPLICATION DEADLINES FALL?

Every university’s website lists application deadlines and a student should investigate the criteria and the application deadlines well in advance. Most institutions have application deadlines in December or January; however, remember that this can vary depending on the destination. A complete application includes the Statement of Purpose, Letters of Recommendation, transcripts, and so on, and your GRE score. Developing a fully-rounded application takes a long time and involves extensive planning and rigour.
Assume you hope to gain admission to a university in the fall of 2020. Your application deadlines would be in December 2019 or January 2020. This implies you should aim to finish your GRE by November 2019. You should also remember that if you do not do well on your first attempt, you must retake the exam, and the GRE can only be taken once every 21 days.

Take a diagnostic test to find out where you stand, and allow yourself ample time to prepare. This will allow you to plan ‘backwards,’ that is, to take the test on time.

When you plan backwards, you can decide when to shape your schedules, and you then have a target examination date. Working towards that aim can help to focus the entire process.
